Annual Meeting Mark your calendars now for the Wisconsin Jersey Breeders Association Annual Meeting, to be held Saturday, March 3, at the Rolling Oaks Restaurant and Lounge in Barron.
All American Shows and Sales

Wisconsin Jersey breeders fared well in competition at The All American Jersey Shows, bringing home awards for two All Americans and seven Reserve All Americans. A Wisconsin cow was named Best Bred and Owned in the open show and a Wisconsin heifer was tapped as Reserve Junior Champion in the junior show. CLICK HERE for more details.

Cassy Krull of Lake Mills was crowned as the 2011 National Jersey Queen and George M. Barlass of Janesville received the Max Gordon Recognition Award.

As well, Wisconsin Jersey breeders consigned the second high sellers at both the All American Jersey Sale and the Pot O'Gold Sale.

Norse Star Renegade Marley tied as the second-high selling female of the All American Jersey Sale at $14,000. She was purchased by Heartland Jerseys, KS, and consigned by Norse Star Jerseys. All Lynns Vibrant Wholesome-ET, consigned by Tommy Allen, left, was the second high seller of the Pot O'Gold Sale at $9,200. She was purchased by Jonas Tate, CA.
Jersey Research

Wisconsin Jersey breeders Mike Fremstad, Gordon Barlass and Marion Barlass with Donnie Sherman, AJCC Research Foundation Fund Raising Chair, and Neal Smith,

The Wisconsin Jersey Breeders Association made a recent donation of $5,000 to the AJCC Research Foundation. Wisconsin Jersey breeders made a formal presentation of the gift at the National Jersey Jug in Louisville, KY, in November.

Wisconsin juniors earned laurels in recent national Jersey youth competitions.

 
Kaila Wussow Cassy Krull

Kaila Wussow of Cecil topped the 2011 Pot O'Gold Production Contest with her entry, Rochas Iatola Whistle-ET. This is the second time she has won the national contest. Cassy Krull of Lake Mills placed sixth in the 2010 National Jersey Youth Achievement Contest.

Also earning recognition in the Pot O'Gold Contest were Grant Fremstad (3rd), Westby, and Colin Wussow (9th), Cecil. In the 2010 National Jersey Youth Production Contest, Wade Kessenich and Derek Sokolowski, both of DeForest, placed fourth and 10th, respectively, in Division II.

We are pleased to have hosted the recent AJCA-NAJ Annual Meetings at the Kalahari Waterpark & Convention Center in the Wisconsin Dells.
