Kentucky State Fair, 2011

Rider Jersey Farm is located in Upton, Kentucky, about 50 miles south of Louisville. The farm is owned and operated by Mike and Ronnie Rider and has been in the family for nearly 75 years, having been established by the brothers' late father, Ernest Rider.

And though the Riders enjoy earning blue ribbons with their cattle, they aren't afraid to part with their best and take great satisfaction in seeing Rider-bred animals do well for others in show rings across the country.

Some of the breed's most-recognized names hail from Rider Jersey Farm, including Extreme Electra, Gillers Georgina, Judes Kim and Premonition Grace.

Electra, far right, is named 2006 Reserve National Grand Champion.

"Electra," now owned by the syndicate of Entourage Farms, Cybil Fisher and Triple T Holsteins, Cable, Ohio, was named Grand Champion of the 2010 Kentucky State Fair and earned laurels as All American Aged Cow at The All American Jersey Show. "Electra" adds the banners to a stack of previous laurels that include 2006 Reserve National Grand Champion and 2008 Reserve Grand Champion of the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair. Most recently, she topped the 100,000M class at the 2013 International Jersey Show and was Reserve Senior Champion. Earlier in the year, she earned the blue ribbon in her class at the New York Spring Carousel and was Reserve Grand Champion.

"Georgina" was named Grand Champion of the Kentucky State Fair Junior Show for the second straight year in 2010.

The Rider-bred "Grace" also earned distinction as Reserve Grand Champion of the Royal Winter Fair (2004) and twice was named All-Canadian, as a senior three-year-old in 2002 and as a five-year-old in 2004.

Georgina tops a competitive class of senior two-year-olds at The 2008 All American Jersey Show.

Though Rider Jersey Farm consigns animals to leading sales like the Kentucky National Sale, the Midwest Spring Special Sale, Field of Dreams and the Spring Valley Sale, it also sells many individuals privately.
