We want to thank everyone who consigned, purchased, attended and helped with our sale. We so appreciate you all! The sale average was $3,550.

Billings Impression of Boo Boo was the high seller at $34,000, purchased by the partnership of Budjon-Vail, Lomira, WI, represented by Travis Krohlow, second left. Also pictured are Andrew VanderMeulen, left, sale manager, and Christy and Ron Ratliff, right.

  The second high seller at $10,200 was Royalty Ridge Excitation Gift, purchased by John Miller of Winterplace Jerseys, represented by Mike Uber, second left. She was consigned by Ryan and Freynie Lancaster.
  The third high seller was Ratliff Dually Joyful at $9,500. She was purchased by the Pires family of California, represented by Louie Cozzitorto, second left.
  The fourth high seller was Lawrence-Haven Verb Fergie, purchased by Kyle and Tori Burk, center, for $7,850. She was consigned by Avonlea and Cybil Fisher, represented by Taylor and Will VanderMeulen, left. Mike Uber, rear, was contending bidder.

We wrapped up this year's show season with a bang at the All American in Louisville in November, earning the prestigious Premier Breeder banner for the fourth straight year.

Ratliff Applejack Penny was named All American Junior Two Year Old and eight other members of the show string stood among the top 10 in their class.

Herd Appraisal

The appraiser was good to us during our most recent herd appraisal in September. ARETHUSA TEQUILA VISION was appraised E-95% and ARETHUSA GOLD VENUS-ET was raised to E-94%. Nine other members of the herd were appraised E-93%. The average for the herd stands at 90.4%, with 33 Excellents and 24 Very Goods.

On the Tanbark Trail in 2015

We are thrilled with our show ring achievements in 2015, wrapping up the season at The All American Jersey Show in November. We earned the Premier Breeder banner for the sixth time in eight years. We also showed three of the top 10 in the milking yearling and senior two-year-old classes. Ratliff Minister Porscha-ET stood fifth in the lifetime cheese class and won the NASCO Type and Production Award.

On the Tanbark Trail in 2014

We are proud of our tanbark accomplishments this year, wrapping up the show season with a bang at The All American Jersey Show in November!

We earned the Premier Breeder banner for the fifth time and also showed one All American and two Reserve All Americans. Ratliff Impression Donner was All American Intermediate Calf. Ratliff Tequila Avelanche-ET was Reserve All American Milking Yearling and Arethusa Tequila Vision was Reserve All American Four-Year-Old.

We would also like to thank Sam, Angela and George Colpetzer, Greenville, PA for purchasing our consignment to the All American Jersey Sale, Ratliff Action Dainty-ET, a daughter of Arethusa Primetime Deja Vu-ET.

On the Tanbark Trail in 2013

We wrapped up the season with a great showing at The All American Jersey Show in November!

We earned the Premier Breeder banner for the fourth time in six years and also earned the blue ribbon in the class for senior best three females. Ratliff Minister Porscha-ET was named winner of the Nasco International Type and Production Award and was BBO in the four-year-old class. Ratliff Sambo Dream, Ratliff Tequila Shotglass-ET and Iota Comerica Patrice stood third in their respective classes.

Other Ratliff-bred animals also fared well. Ratliff Sultan Velvet was Junior All American Four Year Old for Ben Sauder, IL. Ratliff Remake Morgan-ET was Reserve All American Senior Three Year Old for Peter Vail and Budjon Farms, WI.

We are pleased with the results of our accomplishments on the tanbark trail in 2012. Ratliff Minister Porscha-ET was named Reserve Intermediate Champion at The All American and stood first in the three-year-old class at the International Jersey Show. Ratliff Action Angel was All American Milking Senior Yearling. Ratliff Sambo Dream-ET placed third in the senior two-year-old class.

We earned the Premier Breeder banner for the eighth consecutive time at the International Jersey Show and received Reserve Premier Breeder laurels at The All American Jersey Show.

Ratliff Proof of
Progress II Sale
May 19, 2012

We would like to send a very special thank you to the buyers and Jersey friends who made the second Ratliff Proof of Progress sale a success!

Nineteen head sold for $5,000 or more, including the high-seller, Ratliff Remake Morgan, at $22,500. The sale averaged $3,807 and grossed $316,000 on 83 lots. In all, Jersey breeders from 19 states and two provinces made purchases.

The sale was managed by Avonlea Genetics Inc., Andrew and Jennifer Vander Meulen. Russell Gammon read pedigrees and Gary Estes cried the sale.

Show Highlights 2011

We are proud to have earned Premier Breeder laurels (tie with Arethusa Farm) at the Central National in Madison and fared well in competition on the green shavings at the All American Jersey Show in Louisville!

Several members of our show string have been nominated in the AllBreed Access All-American contest: Ratliff Minister Porcha (Senior 2-Year-Old) and Ratliff Jade Candace (100,000 Pound Cow). Our nominated Senior Best Three Females are "Porcha," "Candace" and Ratliff Ren Kendra.

Ratliff-bred animals owned by other Jersey breeders have been nominated as well: Ratliff Socrates Keisha-ET (Milking Yearling) owned by Purple Fever and Rapid Bay; Ratliff Sambo Murphy (Senior 2-Year-Old) owned by Avonlea and International Genetics; and Ratliff Sambo Demi-ET (Junior 3-Year-Old) owned by Cassy Krull.

Alicia wins people's choice award   Ratliff Price Alicia recently won the People's Choice Award in the contest sponsored by AllBreed Access! She also was voted as Best Bred and Owned Jersey in the contest sponsored by Dairy Agenda Today.

Show Laurels 2010

We wrapped up the 2010 show season with a bang! "Alicia" was named Supreme Champion of the NAILE for a second time and National Grand Champion for an unprecedented third straight year.

We also earned the Premier Breeder banner at The All American Jersey Show. Ratliff Ren Kendra stood third in the National Jersey Jug Futurity and and Ratliff D Dean Allie was fifth in the aged cow class. The team of "Alicia," "Kendra" and "Allie" took home the blue ribbon in the Best Three Senior Females class.
