2018
June 27-30
Annual Meetings of the American Jersey Cattle Association and National All-Jersey Inc., Canton, Ohio.

Several times a year, we get together to tend to association business, recognize accomplishments and catch up on industry news. State and district shows give us opportunity to exhibit our best animals.

Consignment sales allow us to merchandise excess breeding animals or buy quality foundation stock.

The annual meeting is held in January. Business and committee reports are reviewed and officers elected. Show accomplishments for adults and juniors are recognized through the All-Ohio Awards. As well, a number of individual awards are given. CLICK HERE for a report of the 2017 meeting.

Jim Bolen, right, and his brother, Terry, were named recipients of the Ohio Pioneer Service Award. Jason Nuhfer presents the award. All photos courtesy Susan Mykrantz.

Ohio Jersey royalty crowned at the annual meeting included Sarah Schonauer, junior queen, Christina Coler,
queen, and Jaylin Dilsaver, princess.
Jarod Herron receives the Ohio Youth Achievement and the Ohio Outstanding Boy Awards from Kadey Starkey, president of the Junior Ohio Jersey Breeders Association. Neal Diley presents the Diley Family Memorial Award to Heath Starkey.
Sara and Mark Hoewischer present the Outstanding Girl Award to Audrey Ferguson.
Jade Laux and Sam Hoewischer were named Junior Promoters.

The summer picnic is held at a different farm each year. This gives members the chance to see how other producers manage and profit from Jersey cattle. This summer, the picnic was hosted by the Nuhfer family, Bar-Lee Jerseys, at their farm in Willard. CLICK HERE for a report.

The OJBA hosts the Ohio Classic Spring Sale each year and breeders consign to a number of other local sales, including the Buckeye Classic and the Ohio Fall Sale. Ohio breeders also support several high-profile national sales, such as the National Heifer Sale and the All American Jersey Sale.
