Heartland Jerseys, Inc. is searching for a hands-on Herd Manager to manage all facets of day-to-day operations. This Herd Manager will be dependable, accountable and organized, willing to work towards team goals, use common sense, and enjoy working with animals using a calm and consistent manner. Will communicate effectively and work well with people (including other nationalities) to ensure that work is completed correctly. Knowing how to speak some Spanish would be a great asset. We would love to find someone who already is familiar with Jersey genetics, or at least be very interested in learning more about it—someone who can recognize the elite animals in the herd, push the genetic potential with increased use of embryo transfers and genomic testing and continue building the potential to sell more bulls to A.I. companies.

The herd was appraised in January and Heartland Jerseys has five new Excellents. Heartland Nathan Texas was raised two points to Excellent-92% and Heartland Rueben Salt is now Excellent-91%. Heartland Jerseys has 16 Excellent and 228 Very Good cows. |
