Cow families are important at D&E Jerseys. Over the
years, we have selectively purchased top quality foundation cows,
developed our own maternal lines and used the breed's leading JPI sires,
with emphasis on functional type and profitable production.
Some of the foundation cows on which we are building
the herd today are shown below.

"Lyra"
was fresh in December with an "Abe" heifer. She gave 90.6 lbs. milk
on her first test and will be flushed this lactation to BW
Carrier-ET and "Jevon." She has two "Abe" sons:
11JE928 Abbott of D&E at Alta Jerseyland Sires and
200JE45 D&E Larry-ET at Semex.
"Lyra"
was purchased at the 2005 New England Spring Sale. |
"Poem" has a daughter in
the herd by "Echo."
She was purchased at the 2005 All American Jersey Sale. |

She was purchased at the 2003 Pride of the West Sale. She is a
seventh-generation Excellent. |
"Lucent" was purchased at the 2002 National Heifer Sale. She is from
the same maternal line as "Lexington," "Lieutenant" and "Leland."
