Members of the California Jersey Cattle Association gather for their annual meeting every year in February. The event is opportunity for breeders to catch up with friends and honor accomplishments. This year, the meeting will be held on February 14-15 at the College of Sequoias Tulare Center. Convention headquarters will be the Hampton Inn in Tulare. CLICK HERE for complete information.
Several special awards are given at a banquet held in conjunction with the annual meeting. The California Senior Breeder and California Junior Breeder awards recognize accomplishments in developing outstanding herds of Registered Jersey cattle. The Distinguished Service and Sweetheart awards honor service to the dairy industry and the state Jersey organization. At the annual meeting, officers and directors are elected to govern the state Jersey organization. Officers are elected for one year terms. Directors are elected to serve terms that are three years in length.
Jersey breeders also enjoy a little friendly competition in show rings across the state every year.
