Shows Bush River Jerseys on parade in 2009. . . A couple of times each spring and fall, we load some of the good ones on the trailer and go to the shows. Once again this year we teamed up with Goff Dairy and Skip-A-Rilla Jerseys and couldn't be happier with the results! Early in the year, Ahlem Legion Bambi 4265 was named Supreme Champion of the Clemson Spring Show and four other individuals took blue ribbons in their respective classes. SAR Sambo Fairie stood first in the five-year-old class at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Jersey Show and the Central National Jersey Show and earned the class best bred and owned award at the show in Madison this fall. Cumberlands Bomber Giggles was tapped as the Junior Champion of the South Carolina State Fair and Bush River Jerseys and Skip-a-Rilla Jerseys earned the Premier Exhibitor banner. At the Granddaddy of all Jersey shows, The All American Jersey Show , we showed the All American Intermediate Heifer Calf (Cumberlands MCT Sassafras), the Reserve All American Junior Two-Year-Old (SAR Apollo Tessa) and six other top-10 placings. R.J. Doran exhibited the Reserve Junior All American Junior Three-Year-Old (BRJ Sultan Kody Bell R-60). Though the 2009 season is now a memory,
we are preparing for next year, when we will once again load up some of the
good and hit the tanbark trail. |
