History
Welcome to
Bush River online.
We have never been prouder to be involved in the Jersey business. Our
cow is at last being recognized by the entire dairy industry for something we have always
known: her superior efficiency makes her potential for
profitability almost endless.
Bush River Jerseys is part of a diversified farming operation,
located on a continuous, 652-acre tract of land in Newberry, South Carolina.
In addition to the 500-head of Registered Jerseys, the farm
includes a turkey operation, a cow-calf beef herd and row crops.
We are milking the herd in a state-of-the-art
24-stall rotary
parlor. We recently built a 450-stall freestall barn and the cattle
were moved in August 2004. In September 2005, Bush River began
bottling milk on the farm.
Bush River is a family-owned operation which was started by Dr.
J. J. "Doc" Malnati and is currently owned and managed by
Doc's grandson, Richard A. Doran, Jr. The day-to-day tasks of the entire farming operation are completed by
eight
full-time employees.

one tourist attraction in the county by the

Carolina by
